Building idea

A friend and I were thinking about a unique way to handle houses.
Instead of having pre determined houses that one can build anywhere, have them determined by the their size, and the terrain they're on.
Example:
In the build menu, have a houses panel, with small, medium, large, and unecessary.
If you choose small, and build it on forest, you'll get a lean to.
If you chose small, and build it on a mudflat, you'd get maybe a small square house that requires clay.
If you chose small, and build it on stone, a more useful house would be available to build (implying Jorbs want for villages to be better than the wilderness)
The same would apply through all sizes and terrains.

Thoughts?

No, thank you. If I wanted to construct a small house out of bricks in the middle of the wilderness and small brick houses were an option, I wouldn't want the game to determine that I wanted a lean-to.

That'd be solved by placing it on stone, which would be more appropriate because it'd one; need a foundation, and two; the stone foundation would determine to build a stone/city house. Problem solved.

And what about the reverse? Constructing a city like Bruma from Oblivion? Logs and stone?

Any time you have a computer autodetecting something or attempting to figure out what a person means, you invariably end up with problems.
