Survival (newbie) torches

The fir bough survival torch is made from 1 branch, 2 string, and 1 fir bough. Once it's burnt out, 1 of the string that was used is returned to the player (and dropped if there's no inventory space) 3 vertical tiles, it looks like the fir bough has been strapped to the branch that's used as a handle.

The tree bark survival torch is made from 2 branches, 3 tree bark, and 2 string. Same burn-out as the fir bough survival torch. 2 vertical tiles, it looks like a bundle of bark attached to a branch, attached to another branch that's used as a handle.

Quality is determined by the average of all the components + survival skill.
The Dwarf is making a plaintive gesture. He doesn't really care about anything any more.

I cannot see that this ruins gameplay in any way, however those survival torches should go out much quicker than linen torches. Is torch quality currently affecting burning time (or light radius)? Maybe have a similar mechanic as with the clay cauldron, that quality of the torch is the normal weighted average of the materials, but then divided by 2 (or maybe 3).

Torch q is useless now...

no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."
