In my head this should be a skill for starting players. A fire pit could be something that is just created with some stones on any kind of terrain and could look like a small stone circle or something with a small gap in the middle or with tree blocks and the same look but with a wood circle. The wood pit could have the benefit of the fire lasting longer, cooking the different meats a bit faster, and the fire burning somewhat brighter (larger light circle at night). The stone pit could have the same effects but with all of them amplified some.
Yeah, fuelling it like kilns and ovens would be nice. Anyway, it's a good idea, would add a lot of ambience without requiring too much effort from Jorb.
Sounds like a good idea. Something like that will probably happen.
"The psychological trials of dwellers in the last times will be equal to the physical trials of the martyrs. In order to face these trials we must be living in a different world."
If something like this *does* occur, it could probably be used to cook bricks (with a smaller inventory than the kiln) as well as food, and have it as a precursor to pottery with the kiln now requiring bricks to produce.
I think, in general, we need to implement stuff that gives a feeling of being "settled", without necessarily demanding the effort of kilns or five thousand cut logs.

My suggestions never get comments, which can be interpreted as everyone agreeing with me. Or nobody can find strong enough words to express their disagreement. I choose to believe the former.
