Item stamps

I was thinking about the criminals in game mechanic and an idea just passed by.
Stamps and marks of property may have good use in keeping your property in sight. There may be two types of them: clay ones that use ink to leave a print and metal ones used simply with fire. Say, the difference between them is the grade of skill needed to unmake the stamp without degrading the item or cattle's quality.
