Since jorb has announced the "magic" system, put forth your ideas for rituals, songs, "spells" or what have you. You could also complain about my ideas. Either or.

Totem of Preservation.
A totem that protects everything on your claim from decay. Building materials would be dreams, branches, bone, wyrd and possibly leather. Protection isn't perfect. Permanent structures receive the most protection, followed by movable items. Larger items like looms, carts and boats would receive more protection than smaller ones, like a plow. The totem would be fueled by wyrd, with a full "charge" lasting about a week. The amount of wyrd is determined by the size of your claim. A small claim shouldn't be inconvenient to protect but a large one would require some effort. The totem would change graphics depending on the charge. A graphic for full, half, and empty, say.

Alternatively, make this an upgrade to the claim totem. It would change the totem graphics, making it bigger and adding another mask/item. That new item would show the charge. Opens up the path to add more upgrades and more impressive totems.

Personal guardian god:

Requires the wearing of a dedicated amulet. Choose from a standard pantheon for different effects. Or choose from a local natural landmark, like a river, oak tree or mountain. Interesting things would happen if that oak tree were cut down... It becomes imperative to protect it.

Speaking of which... Can we get alder and ash trees sometime soon?

Building sacrifice:

When a larger construction: Bridge, cathedral, fortress etc. is constructed a sacrifice is interred under the foundation to make a guardian for that building/bridge etc. Different effects from using an unwilling sacrifice than a volunteer. Can also use an animal and different effects occur depending on the animal. Sacrifice a bull and the construction is strong; sacrifice a rabbit and passage over the bridge is quicker, but the bridge is not exactly difficult to destroy. Sacrifice a rat and players with a low ethics belief get an advantage....

School of Wisdom

Study at this location to get quicker access to these spiritual skills. Kind of like a dojo or an alternative to a village.

The building sacrifice got me thinking...

Song of Demolition.
At the price of wyrd, you can destroy a building on your claim nearly instantly. The song would cost a small amount to initiate and then a cost per building. Larger and more complex buildings cost more than smaller, simpler ones. This could help with newbies who build a wall in the wrong place and aren't powerful enough to destroy it. Not that I would know...

these could use better names

i like the guardian god idea, but itd be better if it didnt limit you to one guardian

I'm a journalist, the only title I can write is "man hit by car, dies." I agree though, "song of demolition" is a little generic. Hopefully someone will come up with some flowerdy names to go with the good ideas.

Keeps it simple for people. Make sure to look up the definition of the synonym that you choose and that it at least somewhat matches what the song is intending to accomplish.

Reminds me of the John Boorman movie Excalibur and the "charm of making." Charm of Unmaking. I kinda like that.

A song for people around you. Boost stats for a while and make guys fully happy (if the happyness will be usefull someday). Is mostly for wirk after the song. Boost on stamina, agi, i don't think strenght.
The boost depend on charisma. Ah. Of course, it need instrumentss >:333!!!

Stars Track (or start treck 8D???....Sorry. Cough coff.)
Let you know in wich direction is your house and how far are you from that. It use good points (so you can't do that often, to avoid abuse)
