I never understood why the devs don't put more use into displaying system messages to single characters....

More feedback in general using system messages would be nice

if the player is trying to interact with something they dont have the prereqs for, it should let you know why
when a LS is trying to invite a party member and its not working, it should point out that you both have to be outdoors for that
when you complete an fep bar, it should inform you which stat won the lotto

I up. Ther's need somehow to give a "tutorial" for newby. Is not so usual, download a game - read a forum and then start to play. Because a Forum don't mean often "guide of the game", but simply "here you can talk about the game" so at the begin you don't have noting to talk about a game that you don't have tryed yet.

Or a Message in game when you use new stuff or a "fast guide" button ad the chara creation menu that open a link with the first thing that a noob need to know. And then suggest "Advanced guide in the forum" for who wanna read it.

has anyone played Wurm Online?

in Wurm Online, all help and descriptions are taken straight from the wiki, which is maintained by the players.
maybe H&H should do it the same? The wiki has tons of usefull info.

NexusWar did something similar.

However, NexusWar actually had moderators for the wiki to ensure that it was presentable.

Well, and it had an actual wiki, not a wikia.
