People were talking about giving bogs and swamps more uses, and on the note of additional housing, why not have the ability to construct houses out of chunks of sod or peat?

This was commonly the alternative to log cabins, especially places like plains where wood was scarce. Besides adding variety to housing, sod and peat could also act as fuel for fires or cooked goods, (Assuming the absence of trees and wood) And could also have different quality, just like soil or water.
I do believe it's been suggested before, but I definitely think it's an interesting suggestion.
