Well, it stumbled upon me today in Geometry (yes, all I can think about in Geometry, well and the rest of the day, is coming home to play H&H.

Since J&L are planning on taking traveling out, and marching in, (and with that comes a zoomed out view of the world) I suspect it wouldn't be too terribly difficult to implement a lighthouse. Not only does it increase your range of sight because you have a vantage point, but it could also turn around and around at night and supply a large beam of light. Now, don't get me wrong. There's no way that lighthouses would magically spin and spin in circles for hours on end. I've thought of that too. You could possibly supply fuel with branches, logs, bark, etc. And of course, you can't get that beam effect without a mirror can you? It would just be a nice small radius of light. But possibly with mountable mirrors (made possibly of silver and glass?) you could create a beam effect. The only thing I'm not too sure about is the engine's ability to create a non-circular shape of light. Now since the Average Joe may come along and say, "But, I don't even live near water. Wouldn't it look a bit odd to have a lighthouse in the middle of a forest?" While this is true, this is also where I came up with the idea of watchtowers.
A watchtower could replace the cornerpost of any wall (besides branch fences, now that would be an interesting watchtower...) And would also increase the range of sight. Now of course, normally (unless your in a freaking prison) a watchtower isn't quite as tall as a lighthouse, but possibly, with a right-click option you could build the watchtower higher, and with each floor built, the range of sight would increase further. It would also be nice to be able to fire at things out of a watchtower with a bow or sling.
Constructive criticism is always welcome, along with suggestions. Please no, "wao, tihs is sto0pid." posts
