I would rather allow for the Lawspeaker/Chieftain to set up areas in the village that work the exact same as Personal Claims, there would be an authority cost and maybe an increase authority drain. This would allow for slightly increased security, set up a claim on steelworks so people that aren't allowed in the area would leave scents.

There are existing mechanics for that. Simply claim the area with an alt. We have some public works areas in our town that do this.

This is not convinient. You need to kin every person that needs permission to alt and need to login to alt to change someones permissions. And this claim is controlled by alt's owner, not lawspeaker/chieftain of village.
Internal village claims will be good tool to easily manage access to different parts of village. But those claims should be limited to village terriory only. Those parts of internal claim that are out of village claim should have no effect. And those claims could be made to be able to overlap each other.

This is not convenient.

Are you saying this as someone who has or hasn't tried it...?

I guess you can do this I just dislike alt claims though this is a practical purpose.

You also linked this thread in a thread about alliances (link at bottom) would you discussion of such a topic here or would you like to keep the separate?

Alliance thread:http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17057&start=0&hilit=alliance

Edit: @EnderWiggins: Its quite practical, especially all the alts are on an alt account controlled by the Lawspeaker (this account wouldn't be passed along with Lawspeaker but usually the Lawspeaker would pass it along)

:)

I love everything mentioned in the Op.

Not much else to say. It makes the Idol more useful and helps to create more of a "meeting place" or "shrine" feel.
