Guides

The game is growing and alts are becoming a problem for abuse as many have reported. People are finding ways to exploit the games features even in alpha and the gms really do not have the time to deal with these issues.

I propose a guide position for players - an alt character converted into a guide. Guides would have very few privelages but for the ability to be invincible, have no skills, run super fast, be invisible, teleport to players, and review issues as they occur, as soon as they can - To determine if the event is griefing or just part of the game.

All they could do with this information is make a formal report to one of the administrators and allow the administrators to maximize their time and efficiency elsewhere.

Personally, I nominate Vattic, and Floyd - I'm not sure how much free time they have but I know them to be trustworthy.

...From everything Jorb and lothar have said its not a issue of time, but a issue of philosophy. They have no desire to interfere in our world in such a half-assed way as teleporting around and judgeing us.

I completely oppose this idea, as i am sure jorb and lothar will, it goes completely against the spirit of the game.

If you are merely looking at ways of prevent alt-abuse thats fine, but this is one way that i am horrified by.

Its been mentioned that solutions or atleast... partial solutions to these problems are in the works, but they will not involve this sort of thing.

Not sure what was actually suggested here, but, as has been stated: We will not police this game. Nor will we have hirelings doing it for us. We might try to do something on the off chance that in game events start to spill over into RL, but that is about it. If the suggestions was moderators policing game abuse in terms of preventing exploits of bugs or know issues, what we have said is that exploiting the game is fine as long as it is possible which, hopefully, it never will be for too long. I've gone in game and removed some d-frames that were used to block hearth fires and the like, but that was only to make the game at all playable for the affected players.

I want maximum freedom for players in the game, because that is the game that I would like to play. And I resent the thought of any other authority than the enlightened despotisms of loftar and myself. :)

That is why it is alpha. Testers (we) must find all exploits/unbalanced stuff/bugs, before it goes to final.
We must thank that kind of people for that.
