New Object Suggestion: Scythe

Postby Yolan » Thu Jun 18, 2009 5:17 am

Currently, we have a great setup whereby you can mine slowly with a rock axe, but with a miners pick you can speed up the process.

What would people think about increasing the time it takes to harvest with no specialised tool, but making it very quick if you are wielding a scythe?

I think increasing the number of specialised tools could get annoying at a certain point, i.e. if there was a unique tool for every job, because of all the clutter and hassle of wielding/unwielding. However, for major jobs, like wheat harvesting, it makes sense to me.

Would a certain paleness, thinness, a black robe, a horse named Binky, and the ABILITY TO SPEAK IN ALL CAPS, be required to use it?
Surprise.

More useful than decreasing harvest time would be to harvest adjacent tiles as well as the one you're selecting. Less clicks is more win

I would like to harvest all of my fields and replant them at the same time with one click of my mouse. It's soooooo hard as it is now. I have to move my cursor around and stuff.

DO WANT. Now all it needs is a creepy musical theme

Any chance of a scythe skillset too?
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Would be cool if the music had an area of effect so you hear it coming from far so you'll shit bricks.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
