Reconsidering Skill Prereqs

Postby Jackard » Thu Mar 04, 2010 9:39 pm

Why do I need Animal Husbandry to learn Leatherworking? Shouldn't it come directly after Hunting?

Why do I need to learn Fishing before I can learn Swimming? Why does Swimming exist now that all rivers have been doubled in width?

The only thing Plant Lore lets you do is build herbalist tables. It doesn't even have a description. Why does it exist? Should First Aid have Oral Tradition as a prereq instead of Plant Lore? Should Plant Lore and First Aid be combined into an general apothecary-type skill that covers the use of herbalist tables, drugs, medicines, inks, parchments and whatnot? Would it have Foraging and/or Hearth Magic as its prereqs?
e: Nevermind this. Just combine Plant Lore and First Aid with Hearth Magic, as suggested here.

Should Basic Mechanics have Metalworking as a prereq?

Should Ranging have Hunting and Trespassing or Theft as prereqs instead of Valor?
