Minor change to carts

Postby MasterCatfish » Thu Mar 11, 2010 4:53 am

Empty carts should be liftable, not unlike cabinets. It would make living in a cave a lot more feasible, among other things. Seems like an easy and sensible change to me.

Or just make carts follow you into caves when you are pulling them. May actually make mining in caves worthwhile. Make them port with you too. Make tame animals do the same.

If you just want to use a wagon in a Cave then isn't the simple solution to just let you pull the wagon into and out of the cave? No need to load/unload at the entrance either.

How are carts supposed to fit through that little door? It might be better to have them be buildable in caves.

I do support making tame animals travel.

Making anything follow you through a doorway is not as simple as it may seem, because it is very hard to know where to place the huge cart inside the cave without overlapping the walls/you/other items.
Surprise.

cartporting would be a handy placeholder for bridges

On that note, could it be made possible to expand gate openings to maybe 3 or 4 tiles if so desired?

If we are at it make troughs, animal carcasses and boats go in carts too.

Make Boats non-liftable except when empty.

The same way my 6 foot tall guy somehow manages to fit through the tiny door to his timber house.

I find it reasonable to have the cart following you when you fast-travel. You are still dragging it right? same goes for animals really.. I hope it's implented because this idea is really really good. Also, having the cart being able to go into a cave sounds good as well. either that you could make the hole bigger with some stone working/carpentry and make a slide of some sort for "realism" or just have them move in with you.
