Inventory Upgrade

Postby lunaga50 » Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:37 pm

I have an Idea on how to better expand the inventory system, leaving the equip page as it is, but turning your inventory into something of just a bag, no Slots, and making little things like rocks stackable to avoid clutter, freefloat the objects in placement within the bag, but in return for having more than well, 30 pebbles in your inventory. Every item gains a said Weight to it, your max weight carried being dependant on your STR and CON. While then the more weight you are carrying (equip included) running costs more Stamina on a slider scale, including when you pass your maximum weight, you can only crawl and even that costs Stamina at a steep rate. This system would also allow then for carrying objects over your head like boats to cost major stamina as well, because well, being able to lug a boat over your head across a continent, just so isn't realistic, atleast without a major strain. Hardest part would be how to code this in Java, any clue there, Jorb?

weight based inventory has been suggested, and in my opinion would be a huge improvement. i agree, it should effect the stamina cost of movement. carryables would have weight as well, obviously an empty container would weigh less than a full one.

p.s. the server is not coded in java, just the client, and loftar does the coding. jorb is the artist.

Sorry jorb/loftar on bloody confusion, but the idea stands, and i'd think it'd still have to be coded so java renders it right?
