Boar Tusks = Bones

For the purpose of making bone glue, boar tusks should count as bones. Possibly for other uses. This is more important now that cornerposts require bone glue, IMO. It seems silly that boar tusks can't be used for glue.

They contain collagen, which is what animal glue is made of. Even if it didn't, why shouldn't the use be expanded beyond helmets and snuff?

Unlike dentin and bone, enamel does not contain collagen.

Dentin is the substance between enamel or cementum and the pulp chamber... Dentin is a mineralized connective tissue with an organic matrix of collagenous proteins.

Cementum is a specialized bony substance covering the root of a tooth. It is approximately 45% inorganic material (mainly hydroxyapatite), 33% organic material (mainly collagen) and 22% water.

The periodontal ligaments also contain collagen.

If you want more glue sources the obvious one is hide, perhaps just boiling raw hides much like we do currently with bones. Hide is even richer in Colegin then bone so this makes more sense then the current implementation (which was driven by the fact that bones needed another usage). If on the other hand your really just looking for more uses for tusk then I've got nothing for you.

Could eventually lead to playermade paintings, brush control could depend on Psy, lots of variables and stuff i guess. Paintings hangable in cabins or mansions, sellable to players, maybe give some sort of buff inside the cabin, +1-10 some skills or something. It would be cool to have paintings up in a mansions different rooms, farming/cooking painting in basement for cheese and herb tables, sewing/surv in main room for loom and stuff, and whatever up top. Man, I should get a cape.

I'd like to see paintings, which could be viewed like maps. Would probably be hell on the server, though.

Well, I have been thinking about the same thing, and I haven't excluded the idea yet.
