Walk through all Hearthfires

The titles says it all. Hearthfires clogging up places (New Brodgar for example but my village as well) is a common problem - I think - and could be easily solved by implementing that you can walk through all of them not only your own.

Or do some people use built hearthfires to trap animals?
I really cant see a downside to this.
