How can we revitalize trade?

Postby ThirdEmperor » Thu Apr 01, 2010 8:45 am

Anybody got any ideas on how to revitalize trade? Combining bounty/vendor stands would be a good step as would making it much harder to steal from, maybe a minimum stealth level of stand quality times 1+1/2 and the stand quality added to the theft scent quality?

Giving lower quality stands more slots.

Move coin to nugget/bar smelting to alloying crucible, so people without metal can actually use the coins to get metal.

Make stands more resistant to decay.

Paper money would probably go a long way to improving trade, after all, more people have acces to trees and/or parchment than metal. A wider selection of items, as well as more bonuses and requirements for higher quality items probably wouldn't hurt as well. The way I see it, the game is proably based around the early 17th, late 16th century from the technology levels I've seen. So, paper money would not be that ridiculous.

dont know what your idea of the 17th century is but this is far closer to the time of the early farmers and where we started to domesticate the first animals, which is way, way before paper money, however we do seem to be in a game and not a accurate reconstruction of history so why not add money, other stuff has been added that wouldnt be historical acurate anyway and nobody gives a crap

Any why wouldn't it? If there were to be some restrictions to limit mass prouction, it may. Possibly requiring Som kind of special ink coming from a rare plant to produce it, as well as, a new skill.

i've already suggested my ideas to revitalize the trade.

A - Let people pay with items, not only coins, in the stands.
B - Let people build a Croass Road Sign where you can put arrows that lead to the city.

Both topics are in the Suggest forum, drowned by the other topics.
