Then brick walls would be made a whole lot easier, which means griefers might be able to build them instead of palisades, which would make escape almost impossible.

Or make it like 5 steel or several hundreds of bronze for 1 gate?
Seems reasonable.

@ Riou, the point here is that it makes brickwalls possible for people who own bronze. Most griefers wont bring 100's of bronze bars to grief. Btw, you dont need to build a gate to grief so wtf.

WTF is this care bear shit that's rising up all of a sudden?

WAAAAHH I don't have metal, jortar make a bigger house out of wood.

WAAAAAH I don't have iron, lofjor make walls out of bronze.

WAAAAAH I can't maintain my village, make villages cheap and easy.

WAAAAAH I don't have trees, loftorb let me make everything out of bunnies and dirt.
Legitimate complaints are all fair and good but if you don't have shit, go trade for it. It's kind of a core mechanism of the game here people. To make you want to get things you can't get without the right materials and thus give you an incentive to get off your fat lazy ass, go say hi to your neighbours and see if you can get those materials.

Mabbe make some nice bronze plate and start trading that for wrought. Taking advantage of existing game mechanic == problem solvered.

The point is you're not supposed to have brick fucking walls if you can't get the materials for them.
