Fish Pond or Artificial River

Wouldn't be cool if we could redirect river currents to wherever we want them, and then maybe place fish traps there to keep fish at a steady supply? Channel digging wouldn't be so hard a landscaping function now would it? I know this fits the trench digging idea, so I'll couple it with something relevant.

Fish Ponds, artificial Fish Ponds. Instead of just butchering fish we could place them in buckets of water for a while and then transport them to a fish pond to breed and create a steady and convenient supply of fish from. Fishponds should be constructible objects which we interact with, like chicken coops.

I'd prefer it if digging a pond was similar as paving a small field, but you'd need to dig a hell of a lot deeper than you'd get with a plough. This just led me to think that it might be a good idea to make holes from digging for soil last a while. Especially if you've dug about five times on the same spot. Anyway, let's say that would be in and you'd want to dig a pond of about 2x2 squares. About 20 dig orders. :P And then you'd have to tilt quite a lot water in that to fill it up. And only then you can deliver a few fish.

And I would NOT want it as a chicken coop, but simply as a new small body of water with fish in it. To be caught as usual.

Wonder how the quality would work with a system like this.

I was just thinking about this. But more of an idea of the chicken coop.

It'd be nice if we could connect it to the river, to replenish fish stores with fish swimming down stream or up stream. Then we'd have traps on both ends of the channel, that way, fish go in, but they don't come out.

Canal's have been discussed before. I don't know if ponds have... I'm not opposed to the idea, but I believe Loftar doesn't currently model current in any way so there's probably a fair bit more work to it than you'd think

If we could inundate soil, guess what happens next, RICE!

We already grow silk, so why not? LOL.
