I apologize if any of this sounds peremptory or whatever, this is just a suggestion.
The idea is to change tech tree from this:
(Pottery is listed because of brick walls)
- Code: Select all
Primitive tools \--> Pottery
\-> Stoneworking --> Masonry
To this:
- Code: Select all
Primitive Tools \--> Pottery
\-> Stoneworking \--> Masonry ----------------/-> Fortifications
\-> Advanced Stoneworking -/
And here is a proposed list of new skills and old skill changes:
Old Skill: Metalworking
-Can make a metal stone chisel, metal nugget + branch (maybe same as metal saw... wrought iron only)
Old Skill: Stoneworking, child of Primitive Tools
-Can make a stone stone chisel, stone chip + branch
-Loses ability to turn boulders into querns/runestones
-Can extract cellar boulders from large boulders
-Querns and runestones only able to be made from cellar boulders
Old Skill: Masonry, child of Stoneworking
-Can turn cellar boulders into stone blocks
-Stone Mansion needs Masonry to place, and stone blocks to build, isntead of stone chips
-Enables the building of brick walls, if you also have the Yeomanry and Pottery skills
New Skill: Advanced Stoneworking, child of Stoneworking
-Can build stone quarries (I am thinking anywhere on mountain tiles... but maybe also add stone geology points? I don't know...)
-Stone quarries produce stone blocks (Q is either Q of the rock build on, or a function of skill and tools maybe?)
New Skill: Fortification, child of Bricklaying, Masonry, and Advanced Stoneworking
-Can build stone walls out of rock blocks, if you have the Yeomanry skill
-Maybe stuff like Guard and Watch Towers, Outposts, etc as well
