Does that mean we'll get straw and branch houses as well?

I don't think stone mansion counts as a straw house in a matter of speaking. Anyhow brick house would be nice when wolves get implemented XD.

When we hear that word alot you know. Ask chak he still wants sharks. But brick houses sure their big and would cost that person a shitton of time just to realize they are tired of their position and move.

Hmmm... what if there were some sort of straw/mud hut implemented for people who live nowhere near sufficient lumber to build a cabin? You'd need a crapload of straw, a bunch of clay, and a few buckets of water. Make it somewhere inbetween a leanto and a small cabin in size, and susceptible to decay. I'm not saying it's necessary, but it would change the landscape a little, which is always welcome in my opinion (the proliferation of tree types lately has made me very happy :) )

Problem there is generally people don't have access until much much later than they should have a house up. Nothing that takes straw should be considered very newbie friendly. I think we just need to vary the trees more, so that they can be abundant everywhere. The game is far too reliant on wood for nearly everything to have areas with no trees.

The only areas with a significant lack of trees are civilized ones. "Varying the trees more" won't help you there.
