As it is getting killed by a bear or boar only means you lose a fraction of your hhp, wait for a bit and move on.
This is hardly memorable or noteworthy so while I was gone for a crap this idea came into my head.
How about everyone started off with a limited number of lives (which can be regained somehow but not easily), and if they faint
from a boar/bear attack then they lose a life.
As I wiped my ass and sniffed the contents I realised that this could interfere with scent summoning , so maybe it shouldn't apply for stuff like that.

The good things that could come from this are:

The wilderness can become a truly frightening place again because imo boars aggro didn't make much of a difference
PvP might be a bit more common
Players who accidentaly drown despite the warnings get a second chance

Just an idea so please.

Because it doesn't really do anything except kill starting characters. It would take some serious luck to start a character without being knocked out 3, or how ever many lives, times. And 'extra lives' are fairly immersion breaking.

If you're arguing the wilderness should be a little more dangerous, I'd agree. If you're arguing that there should be a penalty for being knocked out, I'd agree. There are better ways to make that happen though, like having animals do more HHP damage or losing a few con points when koed.

I've posted a couple of times suggesting long term debufs due to injury that require healers and/or rest to remove. There was a fair bit of raeg in response though, some people feel having to wait 60 seconds is sufficient punishment already
