Hair dye

It would be nice to be able to customise our characters more by adding hair dyes to the potions menu, using say different foraged items to produce the colour like blueberries for blue hair dye, grapes for purple, carrots for orange etc.

Please, no!

Whenever dyeing comes into the game (for face painting, textile colouring etc.) I hope the dyes are made from raw materials at least resembling RL natural colour sources (woad from trees, mushrooms, mosses, bugs) - the sources does not have to match actual RL species-colour pairs (DF-style plump helmet inventions is all right imo), although research into historical dyes may give the game both educational value and depth.
Ultimately it is all pixels on a screen and binary stored data on a server in Sweden, of course, but having grapes colour clothes purple just because - hey, they are purple! - would be.. er.. immersion breaking.

Yep. But I'd also want to see various start up skin tones please.

I support this. Either that, or some sort of 'feather in hat' system to visually tag our little people.

I must admit I kinda like looking like stone age Pippi Langstrumpf, but in the long run we need to look

I think, given my experince in living in a part of the world with a lot of blueberry bogs that meant huge boxes of cheap berries for much of my childhood, the dye would actually be a rich purple. At least that's what little Phalene's t-shirt looked like after the wash. Onion skins make a sort of yellow, a lot of stuff makes green, and blue pigments mean woad, or very expensive paints (hence the Virgin Mary being painted wearing that colour, among many reasons).

The only other thing I remember is that wool takes dye better than vegetable fibre, and a lot of the vivid, modern shades are from Victorian era coal. I suspect this is out of reach for the intended tech level of the game.

I like the idea of applying a woad stick to your naked character as temporary hearth-magic armor.
