Wrath of the dead

Postby arriel » Wed Apr 28, 2010 9:32 pm

When a character was killed and his tombstone appeared in spawn room, there is an option for a successor to either inherit OR to impose wrath of the dead. When choosing wrath, dead chracter`s claim is destroyed and is no longer viable for the taking, new character spawns without any bonus of the dead one, but instead killer of the dead ancestor recieves permanent penalty to stats and skills equal to the bonus that a successor would have recieved if he spawned using Inherit option.

Interesting concept but, as kralmir noted, wacky things can happen.

Refining this idea might be very interesting IMO.

Refining how?

even so, why should i lose a huge amount of my skills cause i got stronger and desided i wanted to plunder your town?

yes a lot of griefers are overpowered but this, in its current form is not a solution, you just turn around what group gets raped, instead of the weak farmers it becomes the strong warriors that get fucked. griefer or non griefer.

Stuff that is written down by 2 or 3 random persons always reflects reality to 100%, just look at that thread in the Inn...

Possibility to make some special choices upon death, for example. Choices that we can make only once in a while when we die. I still dont know what that might be, but your idea inspired me to see it as a starting point for other choices, not necessarily kamikaze approach.

So all the thieves and griefers I kill have the option of permanently crippling me? Sounds great!

Sounds like a good idea, but I think the haunted person should be able to remove the stat loss by noticing there's something strange in his neighbor hood and knowing who he's going to call.

Well, let's just say you needn't worry too much. ;)
