On the Subject of Fortification

That just it beside the wall there is none which i fell need to change and here is the three ideas i had so far. (will post more as they pop up)

1.Ground spikes
That's just as it sounds spikes players can embed into the ground to slow down rams as they can be made so the ram can't be used to target them only players can destroy them slowing the progress of the opposing team by a good amount.

2.Walkable Walls
Both the Palisades and Brick walls should allow you to add a extension to them allowing players to get up and to be able to "look over them" in which i mean give the certain perks based on the QL of the wall to both there marksmanship, accuracy, and there aim charge bar giving such skill as archery a usefulness when trying to hold your own when your town is being attacked

3.Reinforcing walls
Now this one I'm still working on and it still has a few holes but by placing two wall with one square of space in between them players should be able to fill in the gap with dirt and bone glue in order to strengthen the wall not to the point in which its like a brick wall but much more then that of just one wall the, reason i find this fare so far is due to the fact how much space it would take and the amount of resources it would take in order to complete it. (want feed back on this the most)

Well there you have it so that's my idea if you could give any feed back it would be nice to here any opinions on this.
(Thank you for your time)
My friends are those who stand beside me, My enemies are those who stand against me, Those in between are innocent
I swear to protect my friends and the innocent from my enemies
So my question is Who Are You?

well on Number 3

Why spend all that time building two palisades and filling in the dirt when you could build a brick wall.
even if you dont have Iron i feel like this idea would take a long time to do and alot of materials. Time would be better spent making goods for trade and getting what you need for iron.
I do like the Idea of walkable walls. would make it more defensable which is the whole reason to have a wall anyway. the wall should help the defender and not the attacker. trying to shoot over the wall really cuts down on the Hit.
This should still happen to the attacker. But for the defender there should be a defense Bonus. and im not saying that the defender gets to get full Attack.

Because if soemone was shooting a sling through a slit in the wall it wouldnt be very easy.

But still the attacker benifets from the wall. and i think this sucks lol

I like the idea of rubble filled walls. That's the way many castles were built, although the two wall faces were ordinarily of stone. This makes sense to me as an alternative which will add more visual appeal and more options for defense.

For example, suppose you have a little starter mining town with a pallisade around it and discover to your horror that some heavy duty fighter types have constructed a ram and are moving it up to your wall! By good fortune the ram breaks down before they get it there. Unfortunately they have left a scary looking guy with a Bay12 to guard it while the glue dries so you can't nip out try to destroy it while they are logged off. But you can double your pallisade in that spot and fill the gap between layers with hard fill.... Not a simple process since your beseiger will shoot you if you come into sight and you are guessing he has good marksmanship skills. But then again you can try to lure him away by having one or two of your hastily organized villagers make forays towards the disabled battering ram, while other players sneak along under cover of the wall with blocks in their inventory...
