More mines

Postby maplenick222 » Sat May 01, 2010 11:55 pm

I'm probably one of a few others to suggest or want this, but we need more mines. I've been told by several people I know or have met in H&H that we're all out of mines. Now I know metal is supposed to be rare, but holy hell, only a single set number of mines in the entire game? I'm sorry but that's a bit insane. We could use a few more mines.

Another suggestion, dowsing rods could be partially used in finding mines, but not starting them. Using a dowsing rod would make it a 1/4-1/8th times easier in finding a mine spot, but rustroot would be needed to test the dirt to make sure just like it is now.

I agree, I Think we should have some more mines. Also, the rustroot idea is ok.

One thing I'd like to see is rustroot triangulation showing built mines as well as "fresh" mine locations. Maybe show built mines in a different colour/graytone in the list. I have little firsthand experience with this myself, so I do not know how big a problem it is, but some people , tell me that quite a number of mines are claimed and built, but hardly used. If rustroot allowed one to easily find built mines, one could try to build a village and remove personal claims, or try to get in contact with the owners of the mine.

Actually, once a village is all settled, need for metal comes in, our leaders abandon it and go on their own exploration for mines (Hartopolis)
But we really could use more mines. Mostly because nearly all mines are at the world's edges.

I`ve been finding unused mine in abandoned villages for some time now.
I tried suggesting decay on mines, so they`d become prospectable if their former owner has been gone for a while: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6635.
