training dummies

Postby saltmummy626 » Wed May 05, 2010 7:32 am

So I was looking through the list of skills I had when I noticed this in militia training:

Militia Training means your character has learned the basics of organized warfare. He can now construct simple training dummies, and use more advanced combat techniques.

The part I mean is the training dummies part, why cant we build them when this skill says we can? they could work just like sparring but it wouldn't be able to fight back. (like rats and frogs). The problem I see is that they would probably take a lot of abuse and would require a lot of maintainance. so come on people, help me figure out how they could work, because actually its clear to me now why we don't have them, they don't work, not yet.

Perhaps using random nubs as training dummies might be efficient. They also can talk too, hit's two birds with one stone, no?

haha, just kidding. Grievers & Abusers you could use, perhaps?(And if you summon them from offline they can't "fight back" unless they happen to log back in at the very moment.)

You could always just make an alt and use that as a training dummy, so nobody gets killed in the process, nobody gets the blame, and you get satisfaction! See that? Kill three birds with one stone! Although I'm pretty sure that's not possible.

Haha well yes, but what if you develop an alter-ego and it goes after you? I mean what greater enemy then yourself. Would say Equal in all areas but that would be a lie as generally if it's an alter-ego it has a different personality.

And sure it is possible. Shoot the birds down but keep them alive. Get one stone and bash the heck out of them. Win. Three birds dead with one stone.

that's simple construct them and then have player attack them and they use 1% stamina every interval (say every 10-20 sec), which is converted to LP based on combat abilities. giving the player and alternate way to gain LP.
