Walking Macro?

To me, the most annoying flaw of H&H lies in its lack of pathfinding. You have to click a million times to get to your neighbor's place - or even more if he happens to live in a forest.

I know that it's a technical issue and the server couldn't sustain processing 300+ clients' pathfinder systems for long. But why not take matters into our own hands?

I overheard people talking of various AI-grade automation processes that can be realized using macros, involving the ability to check the screen for information (Am I hungry? Where should I click?-type of info feeding). Atleast that's how I think it works, I'm not really enlightened on this subject.

Couldn't this be used to replace/improve the Waypoint system, and thus ease the load on the server AND make it fun to spend quality time away from home? Say, tell a macro to follow a stone road or a direction, activate it, and it will run for you, evading trees, stones and possibly aggro wildlife?

It could be done, and would only be moderately challenging.
It's mostly just a matter of finding someone with the motivation and the time (not me).
