Minable Rocks

I think there should be small rocks that rarely spawn and could possibly require a high perception/exploration. When you mine one, you usually get stone but very rarely you'll get some kind of metal(Maybe a mining skill could increase the chances of higher quality and better type).

I would love to see something like this. Maybe one or two attempts per rock, make them VERY rare, and a completely random type of metal that you have no control over, otherwise i don't think the devs would like it. But it would make a world of difference to at least have a shot at getting that one piece of metal to make a frying pan or a cheese cellar.

Mines are meant to be rare. I would like you to go out right now and try and find metal in the real work ground. Even if you were holding the ore in your hand i doubt you would recognise it. If this ever comes into the game it should be very rare. At least as rare as blood stem. Maybe more.

Well, rare materials (like mined materials, or hq materials) cause trade to happen. It's just that right now, people can't even fry eggs without having either a mine or something to buy metal with. Beyond those "everyday tools", metal should stay rare as fuck.

The frustrating scarcity of metal due to domination of the map is a known issue. The planned solution is to add bog ore for regular metals and panning for gold (not sure about silver).

Old issue, discussed to death with propositions that resemble even this one. I doubt they're really looking for new solutions until bog ore is added, tested and tweaked. A realistic way to find silver, in this theme, might be something worth considering.

I could probably see a random chance of getting a random ore from chipping stones on a 1/200 or something like that. Probably a bit rarer if chipping from natural rocks (1/500-1/1k). All in all not a bad proposition but I would suggest not adding new rocks to accommodate this functionality.

This would be an easy to implement functionality that would require very little addition to the game and could easily function as a placeholder for bog ore with increased odds to reflect the lack of bog ore/panning. (1/50 for cellars and 1/200 for natural).

This could have a similarity with the earthworm/soil ratio when digging.
