Beliefs Sliders

Postby Blxz » Mon May 10, 2010 6:11 am

Not sure how it would work in game and if balance would be upset. What I was thinking was to have the belief sliders inherited by a reincarnated character. If my full change, weak as shit farmer is killed it would go a long way in getting me back on my feet to be able to continue with full change again and full nature so I can at least harvest my crops and get 3 seeds. Likewise for a miner/smith.

Also, if a raider decides to go full tradition to protect their stats and then they die they should start off at full tradition again. Much less stat loss but at the same time they can't regain what they lost quite as easily. On the otherside if their stats are still sufficient they can just go and raid again immediately.

I consider this to fit easily within the game idea. I could assume most towns are not made up of only 5 ppl. There would be children, families, etc. And that is what the re-incarnation idea sort of describes. Your apprentice taking over with fewer skills but still a bit of learning. It makes full sense then to have the sliders to also be in a similar position. If balance is affected too much then maybe the sliders can be halfway where they were before. Or maybe we get 2 or 3 free slider moves (although I think that fully unbalances raiders).

Any comments/suggestions form others?

Have you never died? On the reincarnated character, all sliders are in the same position as they were on the ancestor, except for tradition/change which is set in the middle.

I do like the idea though of dying on full change means reincarnating on full change, and likewise for tradition. The villager who gets randomly jumped gets to get back on their feet faster than the raider who moved over towards tradition. Moving off of tradition does take a long ass time, so the invader who finally gets theirs in the end gets a little more punishment for doing bad things.

No never died. Have been insanely lucky in many raids. But I did hear that change/tradition goes back to normal. I figured it was the same with all sliders. My point still stands though.

Yes, die with full tradition and still have lots of LP for combat skills and Numen Points to gain your strength and other stats back...
Go beat some stuff up, die again, repeat.
