Emotes

Postby Resture » Tue May 11, 2010 9:03 am

I just noticed there are no emotes in the game.
If I am wrong go ahead and delete this topic.
I would just like to see some form of emotes in the game.. and it shouldn't be that hard to implement.
people emoting inside of *'s is just lame.
How about just making it if you start a line with a certain character it turns it into an emote.
for example you type :laughs.
it will appear
Resture laughs.
Simple. I'm sure there are a couple of people that would agree on this.

What would the point in this be? It's not like typing *Laughs* is much of a hassle, why make the devs waste their time on this request when they can add things that would actually appeal to all the other players?

When I want to show people I'm laughing, I go 'Haha' or 'Rofl'. I use 'Lol' way too often, but that's not the point.
I don't see why people would go '*laugh*' anyway. I think it's better off for Jorb and Loftar to be working on other stuff than emotes.
Cause I just know Jorb will pull out his dreaded faces into an update if he does this.

Having a form of /me would be nice though.

emotes would probably be cool and get used a bit, but also probably time consuming and heavy on assets

If I understand correctly the OP wants the game to appeal more to the roleplayers. Unfortunately I have never met a roleplayer personally in-game. I have to agree with Riou1231 and say *laugh* and any other form of text emotion should suffice.

How childish, just because I expressed my opinion you go "stfu"? I don't do that when people hate my ideas, this just proves that you are an insufferable prick.

Ease up on the Jerk Juice, either you like the idea or you don't, no need for image macros
