Decaying Metal?

Postby Turtleshot » Tue May 11, 2010 9:46 pm

I think things that are fully made of metal, anvil, coinpress, cauldron and strongbox shouldn't be decaying. Unless soils are EXTREMELY ACID here, but in that case, vegetation couldn't even grow.

Conssidering those systems aren't in(or planned, who knows), and metal can indeed decay, what's the problem?

Just pretend it's rust, or indeed that acidic.

Wind rain and the elements.

It could be argued that a lot of metal stuff should have quite a high soak value (cauldrons and anvils)

On another hand, anvils can't be repaired with common metal, which is a very frustrating issue, considering you can make it with bronze and need cast iron to repair it.

Cauldron faces the same dilemma on that issue.

Not everyone wants to have a house dedicated to use of only a few certain items. for example if you just have a churn, meat grinder, and cauldron, do you really want a house for that? Or alternatively using up inside room in a storage-house of sorts?

Having them outside is nice for a lot of reasons, not that I disagree with the current decay.

I have a mansion and a storage shed. I have a cellar in the mansion but not in the shed yet.

I have more space than I will need for a long long time.
