Postby joojoo1975 » Mon May 17, 2010 12:22 pm

basically a club, used the same as a sword, but does half dmg ratio as sword, and uses the sword abilities but costs 1 more coin?

or has this idea been shot down in times past

i agree with you. Blunt weapons should be added. But a club is blunt, and a sword is a slashing/piercing weapon, so not the same effects. i would love having different damage types such as blunt, slash, and pierce. Or do we have those already??

nvr ever mention that insult to mmorpgs around me, plz and thank you.
the truth is that these kinds of damage have different effects based on your armor. Armor is designed to protect from slashing damage mostly. you can get some protection from piercing weapons like daggers, spears, and arrows, but blunt weapons like clubs and maces are deadly, even if you wear armor. For instance, that nice suit of high q plate will protect you from a sword, and from some stabs and arrows, but hit with a flanged mace, and it actually becomes hazardous to your health because it buckles and tears. Harder to move around in, the jagged edges will cut you up, and then there's the fact that blow more than likely broke one or more bones. But of courses, blunt weapons have a tendency to be slower and heavier than other weapons.

Slashing=average speed, average damage, not the best against chain mail and plate.
Piercing=high speed, low damage, good against chain, but a little worse against plate.
Bludgeoning=low speed, high damage, good regardless of armor.

I didn't included leather, because im not really sure what kinda of defenses it offers exactly.
These damage types could be added to animals easily as well (teeth & tusks=pierce, claws=slash, hooves=blunt)

uhh, how is RS an insult to MMO's? Its actually quite a good game for being java. Its got tons of quests, tons of monsters, tons of skills. Sure its community is lacking but once you get to a higher lvl and in a guild. All the things to do in runescape is awesome fun. It gets regular updates, quests and new areas are always ebing added. this game is huge for being browser based 3d. Specially being a member. I dont play anymore but I got to lvl 90 and have no complaints, met some awesome people, had good times, sad times and bad times. everything went better than expected

What did a bendy straw ever do to you to deserve this...?

runescape has one of the best quests in any mmo, and quests are the only quality of an mmo
