How about some Vodka (водка)?
To steal directly from Wikipedia;
Vodka, one of the world's most popular liquors, is composed solely of water and ethanol with possible traces of impurities and flavorings. Vodka is made from any one of these fermented substances: grain, rye, wheat, potatoes, grapes, rice, or sugar beet molasses.
Vodka’s alcoholic content usually ranges between 35 to 50 percent by volume; the standard Russian, Lithuanian, and Polish vodkas are 40 percent alcohol by volume (80 proof).
It's unfortunate that the formal form of Russian Vodka is rather recent, looks like the word originates around 1405 in Russia.
Fortunately, it would be an excuse to add potatoes. Or beets, I guess.
I imagine that, if used, it would have a different use than current boozes. Unlike the softer wine and beer, an 80 proof Vodka can wipe out a weaker character. But, the potency of the potable imparts a Kievan, stoically immovable defense. Like a mighty bear, a character drunk on vodka is unlikely to move nor be moved.
Now, good vodka can be smoother than poor stuff. So, good Vodka does asymptotically less damage and performs better. In game terms, the character drops one speed category or something, and takes half damage. Plus several times the drunkenness of regular booze.
I do like the hat, though. Kinda a badge of Russianivity.
Of course, if we're giving badges to ethnicity, we need things for the French and Japanese, too. Cigarettes and straw hats?
