Seperate forum for worthwhile ideas...

Postby ViciousGamer04 » Tue May 25, 2010 10:08 am

As apparently my thread "Get better macro protection..?" brought up many pros and cons of macro protection apparently because of a few trolls disrupting the topic at hand it got put in a trash bin, basically.

While other threads like the, "My character drowned, please change swimming!" threads were obviously flawed from the beginning & still around to debate and discuss about.

My idea is to have a board for good suggestions to debate over the pros and cons and just deal with the trolls masscarading in the thread(as that's basically any thread you make especially if it's a "How do I" and it's a fairly common sense answer.) as opposed to just locking the thread and ignoring it. I actually found some very valuable points for in relation to macro protection within it for when I get my own game idea launched in the near future. I guess if all else fails i'll just make a very similar thread to bring it back to life. Apparently if a thread is popular it get's trashed. I mean, it's not too terribly hard to sift through troll responses. I personally skim over certain usernames now as they never post anything productive when responding to a thread.

You do realize that everyone will think that their ideas are good and post them anyways, correct?

If you actually read the sticky, and if everyone else who posted those kinds of threads did, they wouldn't exist.

Well I meant a forum that mods can move threads to but people can't post new threads in. I also meant it in a sort of different context that what you seem to think.

I did read it and it didn't really say anything I didn't already know. In fact, it was quite lacking as to what i'm used to seeing & making on my past game forums.

The point of the thread was macro protection pros/cons etc. It's more of a discussion then me saying very specific ideas in relation to it. It was going fine until certain people in it started spamming in it. Like they always do in just about any thread. Lol. If it wasn't for about 10 particular users H&H's forum would be spam-free. Although for some very obvious reasons this will never be the case. Considering if you got rid of one of them, another one would pop up.

The specific topic was Macro protection but you can't just narrow it down to just one particular thing about macro protection. There are a lot of things to be dealt with in relation to it.

that would probably be good, it wouldn't have made your other thread less of a trainwreck though.

on second thought maybe instead of a separate forum we could just get rid of all the terrible threads in this one...

If there was such a forum, there'd be no room in it for a thread on combating macros because that's just treating the symptoms rather than the disease (as devs have stated hundreds of times by now).

Or you could create a forum with hand picked consituancy and let the masses trash the C&I forum.

The question is, should the public be able to view that forum even if not able to participate? And if they were, would those selected members wave their membership around like a big cock?

This thread is funny because it's suggesting something that already exists. Your lives are being controlled by the upper echelons of internet society. Live the fear.
