Other ways to tell if something is damaged.

There may not be many (or any) other colorblind people here, but I think another way of telling if something is damaged could be useful. I'm personally red-green colorblind (for those not in the know, I have trouble distinguishing between red and green, or various shades of red and green when they are near each other, like those dot tests the eye doctors give to have you find the numbers), so objects like brick walls, or other red things I can't tell when they are damaged because to me it all looks the same.

Thirded. Having the "red glow of ruin" pulsate might work well.

That's quite clever, and I like it.

I'd prefer a "damage scan vision" which you can toggle. When activated, you'll be able to see which items are damaged by some form of signal; something like smoke or flashing. Something that won't cause too much lag when seeing tons of damaged items.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Poor artists :( It's 20 whole minutes to edit an already created pixel!!!! To show various signs of decay.

Consider carpal tunnel people!!

instead of solid red coloring, a red/grey checkered color could overlay the object sprite.
