I understand that the Ring of Brodgar, hearthfires, and village idols push back the danger, but I believe that the density of a forest should push back against it.
As it stands right now, anyone can make a town in the furthest depths of mordor, and if they do so near a forest, (As they have done so to the great forests , thus destroying hunting there) What I am suggesting is that fir trees should push against civilization. The more dense the forest the stronger the animals, the more it pushes against civilization.. Which makes sense.
This would create a unique balance and keep the game playable while limiting necessary expansion.
At this moment, we need the map widened, SEVERELY, north and west at least. But with this suggestion people who are nature specked would not only be able to replant fir trees to keep forests populated, and eventually harvest them for wood again. But more so, they could increase the level of hunting and even have private forests and maintain the level of dificulty.
Now the Ring of Brodgar is significantly powerful, even if someone were to plant firs thickly there, no level X bears would spawn. at worst a level 4 might.
Please consider this.
