Animal taming

At the moment the process is too lengthy, which is not justified. The five stages are too long to wait half an hour - an hour, until the cow attack. During this time, server can crashes. Would be quite acceptable if the player starts each stage by attacking animal.

I would prefer a system where it takes days to tame a cow but you only have to tend it for a few minutes each day.
30 minutes to an hour in one go is unrealistic and inconvenient.

Considering that sex is determined only after the domestication of a few days - too much for those looking for a certain type of animal:)

I would love Animal taming without going to fight and more about love and caring
As a "farm boy" IRL I know if you treat your annimals good- they will be good for you. That why I don't like fighting aspect.

Idea:
You just have to catch it (using lasso or something) and then bring it in pen and make it happy enough (by feeding/giving water/brushing every day) to give wool/milk/eggs. Just like in Harvestmoon.

And I think Chickens should be a "normal" animals too- They should walk frelly after taming, but stay near chicken coop you put them in.

Btw, I hope you will add wolfes and then we could tame them to be guard dogs!

These animals are completely wild, if anything the whole process is too rushed and fast, they should fight up against you depending on what generation they are after domestication. Example:
Generation 1 (Tamed from wild Aurochs): About once every 1~2 days will get fiesty, fight you in their pen and attempt to break out [Very slowly, takes a few hours for them to break a single fence piece]
Generation 2 (Born from tamed wild aurochs): About once every 3~4 days they'll rebel, will attempt to escape, won't fight you as much, perhaps they'll hit you while you milk them for a bit

After generation 4~5 it should calm down a bit or simply diminish until the point where the chance of it happening is very low. This would make livestock trading a lot better for those who start off taming the first few days of the server being up, but not as a 'necessity' to obtain them as much as it would be a convenience.

I don't see any problem in the taming process really since you only have to do it once(on a herd to be sure you have a few females)

i like the idea of creatures becoming less wild with each generation, but they shouldn't be able to break out of their pens when you aren't there, there should just be a chance of aggroing when you get near and if they knock you out they smash through the fence instantly and dissapear.

I like the idea of a longer more gradual domestication process over a few generations too, but something seems awkward here if it's ideal for me to go put on my bronze plate just so I can milk a cow safely. Not really sure the best way to do it, though I guess one could claim the current quality system for them is already an attempt to abstract a wild vs domesticated scale, just without the random aggroing.

Seems kinda crappy, considering I heard it took a month for a new generation to be born, which means you'd wait 5 months for awesome cattle...

it takes 5 IRL days, more or less for a baby to become a adult, and another 5 orso for a cow to actually give birth to it in the first place. so those people talking about it taking a month meant a ingame month, but still its 10days per generation which is a long time.
