Cotton, Corn, Windmills

Cotton, Corn, Windmills

Postby TheRussianB » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:50 pm

I've recently thought of some things that would be really cool in H&H.

Farming
Cotton Plant - Yesterday I went on a small hike in a nearby park and noticed little white fluffy pieces flying around. This reminded me of cotton and I thought it would be cool to have cotton in H&H. We could make cotton clothes and maybe other things with it.

Corn - I can't believe H&H doesn't have this yet. It just seems to fit. It could be used to make a variety food.

Buildings
Windmills - I thought it would be really cool to have a building like this. It would be like a house but inside would be a place where you put wheat seeds to grind into flour. To not completely copy the quern, it could do it a lot faster or a lot at once or something. Just thought it would look cool.

There you go, some things I think would be an awesome addition to the game.

Might as well throw a watermill in there while you're at it.

While we're at it, please, also implement mechanisms, gears, axles, spike traps, and magma pls.

Before we start that we should see some basic locks.

No reason to have "Basic Mechanics" without mechanics.

If we can get this implemented, we could have a use for mills. I would suggest allowing you to put a much larger amount of wheat in there and will not be softcapped by the farming skills (though grinding wheat is great LP). Same thing with wool -> cotton plant as well. The reason why I suggest a much larger capacity is because the buildings are obsolete if you have a villager with the skill that they are suppose to process which is possibly the main reason why it may not be implemented.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Cotton is tropical and corn is new world (Yes, so are tobacco and pumpkins).

As for windmills that would be awesome to have something you could just dump seed into and have it automatically fill up with flour. which will be even more awesome when flour becomes a fluid and we get a new system of fluid mechanics....

Because then...then we could make waterwheels too. And pumps to deliver water froma nearby river to individual claims in a village It could even have a complex system of gears and levels that when cleverly arranged could remble a simple binary process to control and even power flood and pit traps around claims...

...shit...

...now I wanna go play DF and I'm not done baking my pumpkin pies.
Well what is this that I can't see
With ice cold hands takin' hold of me
Well I am death, none can excel
