Ramps

I am not sure anyone else has brought this up, but I feel it should be possible to build ramps for roads over ridges, because let's face it. It's not exactly a mountain. While roads can be built around ridges, that is very time consuming and very inefficient. Think of wheelchair accessibility people.

That... actually makes a bit of sense. Ramps should never become regular tiles, of course, they should remain "ramps" and perhaps even have a chance to decay back into cliffs (erosion and stuff) to prevent wholesale flattening of the gameworld.

I like it, though.
Surprise.

The ramps would have to be built individually, otherwise you might end up with something odd with the smaller sections of ridge where the ramp you want to place is 'too big' for that area. Also, this would stop those annoying "hey guys i just claimed myself a giant-ass valley; now you'll have to walk around!"

Of course, given that we can make ramps, maybe we could also make ridges as a 'structure' that's able to decay, too? After all, a ridge is just a ramp in reverse. Thus you could simulate a fortress on top of a man-made hill that will gradually decay back into flat land.
The Dwarf is making a plaintive gesture. He doesn't really care about anything any more.

If ramps were implemented, ridges would turn from natural walls to something you would want to avoid like the plague. Because you still couldn't build walls over them, and people could get over them. If ramps were implemented, we would need some way to remove ridges with it.
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

maybe together with ramps should come the abilty to build... wall... ramps? basicly the abilty to build a wall that connects one side of the ramp with the other.

It wouldnt be SUCH a disaster.but... I think it would be best to wait and implement this together with the big map reset. to avoid all of those that build their walls with "naturalwalls" as a component.
