Snap-to-grid when putting down liftable items

Postby martinuzz » Fri Jun 25, 2010 12:53 am

It would be very nice to be able to put down liftable objects, like a cupboard, neatly on the grid, as if building them.
Perhaps, holding shift while rightclicking to put down an object, can put it down on the nearest tile?
Making a nice straight row of cupboards in a cellar is a PITA now.

You are aware this is already in the game? Exactly like you suggested it to be, always has been.

Try it sometime, it's just like you said. Shift,r-click
"Normal" is only a difficulty level in video games - Aso11

Koya: What means "molest" ? Translator cannot translate it or do it with no logics...
"And no im not native to english, I was born in the usa." - A very bad troll.

I thought it was only true for the reverse; free placement while building, with the shift key.
I really thought I tried right-click dropping stuff. Must have failed somehow.

So... much... time... wasted. On making neat cupboard rows in the cellar. lol.

I wonder if all of BN was under the impression that this doesn't work?

No, unless someone spent HOURS setting up the cupboards in the cellar of the barter zone shack, someone must have known about it... unfortunately this is the first I have even thought about it... now to tidy some houses up. Thanks Martinuzz for pointing out a flaw in my thought process, and the rest of ya'll for pointing out it was exactly as he had hoped it would be.

These are b12ers we're talking about... I wouldn't be assuming days and months, let alone hours of tedious effort are any barrier whatsoever for a minimal aesthetic improvement

dude SHUT UP! I spent half an hour yesterday aligning urns perfectly, yelling at others about how there needs to be a way to line stuff up. Now I find out it's a feature.

Goddamnit.
