Choice of having only minimap up, sans chat

Sometimes when working alone I hate to have to bring up the entire chat when i want to see the map, it takes up like 1/5 of the screen. Sometimes I wish i could have the option of only having that corner map up, it would make things much easier and less visibly cluttered when making treks.

Use Pacho's client. it won't seperate the guibar but it will give you more screen space with a custom res which is extremely nice for traveling.

Almost all of that UI needs to be redone to be more user-friendly.

Minimap should be detachable.

Yeah, I agree. If nothing, I feel like the minimap should replace the portrait of the player in the top-left corner. No real use in constantly seeing my own avatar's picture there.

Unless they implement some sort of status effects (starvation, wounded, etc) that you can see on your character.

Which is another thing that would be very nice to see.

'Bars' are gay, and while they should exist as an option I'd much rather prefer being able to see the effects over my character instead, such as sweat or something when his stamina is drained, a bloated look when overstuffed, etc.

However as mentioned the whole GUI really needs an overhaul ^ ^;

To start:
Map detachable, zoomable preferably but not necessarily, should be movable (I prefer top right corner, I'm sure others prefer other places)
Chat separate from everything else and more intuitive -MOVABLE-
The little skill shortcut bar should be movable itself, it should also default to the KEYPAD numbers (As well as it's own shortcuts and eventually people being able to make their own shortcuts)
The typical bar should stay the same but if chat is -MOVED- should be the only thing to stay on the bottom of the screen

All GUI elements should be attachable to the action bar (that also has that little semi-circle).

Something similar to Maple Story (yes, yes, it's a terrible game but they got everything right Chat-wise/Shortcut-wise) would be lovely.

It's there so you can constantly be scared by your face when they implement them ;)

I wonder if it would be possible to add transparency to the chat bar. Sometimes I don't really want to minimize it, but just make it a little less obstructive.

A detachable minimap would be a gift from the gods.
