New transportation methods

Sleds: Holds 1 item. It'd move faster than a cart on grass, but obviously limited to one item. (Would look kind of like a stretcher.)

Caravan: (Suggested before) Holds 8 items, needs a team of two cows to pull it at slow speed, and 4 to pull it at walk speed.

Also, perhaps one would be able to ride on a caravan rather than pull it. I imagine having several players, even.

Even better, allow players to log off while riding. This way there's an advantage to being on a cart; you can take long, boring trips while offline.
Surprise.

Also, I just though of, you could maybe have a way to set a path for the caravan to go. Path finding would definitly need to be implemented.

I'm impatient for mounts (sprinting or faster?) and I think boats would be great too... I'm a little less enthusiastic about caravans or sleds. They just don't seem important yet.

If there were mounts (horses), hopefully they'd be able to pull carts and we'd be able to ride them as well. And fire arrows from them. Like chariots.

If we can carry 4 times of what a cart can carry then i see the advantage of caravans. And they should go running speed unless linked to more caravans in which case they should go slow.

It would allow people it live as a nomad as you can carry essential tools with you.

I like the idea, but I don't like the name. A caravan is not a type of vehicle, it's a group of vehicles travelling together. It should be called wagon.

Sorry for nitpicking.

S'ok. I don't like wagon though, because I think of westerns. :P

B12ers think of... wagons. They are truly intimidating creatures. They cannot be smashed by a bridge, nor does gravity cause them to fall. =o Also, they can run stuff over. We want wagons, as long as they're on our side.
