CON(or AGI) for Stamina

Postby DatOneGuy » Mon Jul 05, 2010 3:14 am

I know this has to have showed up but a search only throws me people wondering why it's not in (or it being added as a minor point in bigger suggestions).

CON (and/or AGI) should be added to increase total Stamina or decrease Stamina drain, preferably the former.

The fact that stamina is purely limited with no way of increasing it is a pain in the ass. It should definitely give diminishing returns (like the quality formula).

Something simple like 5(Base gain) * sqrt((CON+AGI)/5)
You should need considerable gains in both to get over 200% Stamina (500 in each?)

No, think of the implications for PvP. Playing field should be more level, not less.

Make it applicable for swimming only? It is possible to code that right, like an "IF" statement?

or do a double bar like hunger and make the stages like speeds and only the tops ones can be used for combat.

The problem is with the running part of PvP, ie escaping or catching someone. I think it'd be unbalanced if some people could run longer than others. And limiting it to mining, ploughing etc seems a bit too exceptiony to be good design.
