Exterior Container Type: Large Bin/Crate

The introduction of large chests are indeed very nice and I use them often for bulky trades (e.g. bricks) and hunting trips. I also use them for seed sorting at the moment, but they are not ideal and their decay maintenance maybe a little expensive to keep outdoors... they're not bad at all for this, however...

It would be nice to have a large open top bin/crate for outdoor storage (leather, tree seeds, metal ore, whatever you want), made from wood alone. Like cupboards, can't be lifted if it contains something, but with a large inventory capacity for bulk storage, 10 x 10 or even 12 x 12 will be great and I would have no complaints if it occupied 2 x 2 floor tiles. Their resilience to decay should obviously be much better than cupboards and open top so that you are able to see from the sprite if it contains anything.

Making them not liftable at all should compensate for all that space. :P

That kills much, that's something that should really be reserved for 'buildings' and 'structures', if a container isn't movable it should provide much more than that, as it might as well be a building.

A small 3x3 'structure' with an interface that would equal half a log cabin full of cupboards (Let's say somewhere between 6~8) would work nicely from that.

The problem is that having it unmovable just brings a lot of grief, that's like strongboxes, if they're going to be immobile they better fit a shit ton more space.

Since they would be made of wood they would probably be easier to break than Strongboxes. :)

The idea is that the soak value is low so that they can not be used for griefing. I don't think to have them immobile after building is necessary at all. Having them open top with sprites to see if they contain something or not is so that you can visibly tell, without opening, if you are able to lift them or not. Compensation for the large inventory space is in that they use more than one floor tile (2 x 2).

Yes.

no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."
