Minimap Movement Option

Postby TITANBASEBALL » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:35 pm

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before; if it has, point me in the direction of the existing thread. My suggestion would be to add an option to the game where, by using the minimap at the bottom left of the screen, your hearthling can move further than the edge of your field of vision. By clicking the spot on the minimap where your character wishes to travel, your hearthling will automatically walk there uninterrupted (except by loss of stamina, etc.). I'm not sure if this is implementable in game, but if it could be I'm sure that it would make an incredible game even better!

Wouldn't be particularly useful; the game has so many objects in it that act as obstacles that you'd need to click more than once anyways (exceptions being mudflats and the like). As for player pathfinding, I got the impression the devs don't want it implemented.

Well, if the devs are against it, then I wouldn't want to go against their plans for the future of the game...it was just a thought. Having travelled quite a ways on several occasions, I have found myself wishing for some form of automatic movement. But I suppose that adds to the realism of the game.

Also, if it was ever implemented, would it be possible to have the hearthling walk as they do on a road? That is, avoiding objects?
