it is a social game but generally speaking, friends not included.

I think that this game need more options for people, who play with friends. =)
e.g. point my friend's on map (like in party mode), because I don't really now where they are

another eg. add national flags to see how many people is from each country (this may be usefull for admins ^^)

That's also not a bad idea. I think in that way more person will know this game and there will be more fun ^^

OP could also mean to remove murder and permadeath.

Could be an option when should H&H go commercial, to supply two servers: one with and one without permdeath. Users can then vote with their CC which is better.

I'd also vote against this, the servers can just about cope with the current number of players, any more and we'd be in trouble.
