I have been using the search function for a while, before posting any new idea, and I have to say that my way of thinking is exactly like the average H&H player. Every idea that comes to my mind was previously posted. So I propose to do a bugtracker-like thread, where to collect all the generally acepted and discussed ideas. This could help the devs, prioritizing the gamers desires and structurating a work-to-do list, and could also help to avoid repeated ideas caused because of "searching laziness". The moderators will be in charge of picking the appropiate threads and structuring the thread itself.

English is not my native language so I try to express my idea the best I can, sorry if there are any idiomatic calamity.

Sorry again if a thread like this was already posted, but I don't have words (because of my low level English) to search something like that.

edit: I found this http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8014, it's similar to my request but without official (moderators and devs) support and includes too many threads.

Reducing 1000 threads down to about 50-100(actually after looking over it I believe it's far less then that but I am too lazy to count.) is too many?

That's my thread you linked to btw. lol. I tried to list all the ideas that weren't duplicates and were of "quality" discussion value.

As I said, your thread (by the way, I think it should be sticky) is similar to the one of my idea, but is not the same. Your thread propose is helping with searches and repeated ideas, mine includes that but is a little bit different.

I'll try to explain it better.. the idea is collect the best ideas in one sticky. "Best" here means the ones with more approval, more discussed and depured, also only the ones that are reliable for a mid/short term implementation.

IMHO such list should be on wiki. Forum search sucks sometimes.

Having (by user for users) index page's for whatever is always nice. For ideas or, my favorite (hint hint), Known bugs/artifacts/etc.
But maintaining those ... is always a problem in the long term.

Things that would help
1)Fix phpBB so that it's search function doesn't shit on everything
2)Upgrade to a better forum system
3)Add a tag system and someone can just go around tagging the older pages, this would make `searching` in here easier, can also simply add a tag cloud to help with that.
