Quick village management fix: Exile all

Postby spectacle » Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:28 pm

Since it doesn't seem like a comprehensive village management system will be ready anytime soon, I propose the following hack to let us eliminate "phantom" village members; give lawspeakers an "exile all" command, that clears the village roster of everyone except the lawspeaker, chieftain and hirdsmen.

This command could only be used when village authority is full, and will reset authority to 50 000.

Nice idea, it should be felpfull in some situations.

There should be also something like "village screen"- you will be able to exile any player (logged off, too) from there.

What's the point in this apart from becoming village member, then killing the lawspeaker, claiming the position and then exiling everyone?

I vote (yes i know, Jorb already stated that this is no democracy) for a real system when it comes.

You should really stop giving out all the good evil plans for free.

If a hostile character manages to seize the lawspeaker position, the village is fucked anyway, if he's not a complete idiot. My proposal would let him rape the village slightly faster, but the rape would happen either way.

A proper village management system would of course be the best, but since we're unlikely to get that anytime soon, we need some way to get rid of the unknown village member that's regularly messing up our village plaza.

I'll think about that.

Maybe, maybe not. In case he has to remove everyone by hand the villagers have a chance, in case he can kick them all instantly: not.

Then i suggest you hide a guard there and let it watch who is doing it.

+1. The "village screen" option would be far more convenient, but more complicated and programming labor (Just taking into consideration the devs are probably working on bigger things.). "Exile all" would be a quickfix with a potential backfire, though better than having people be part of the village, with nobody being able to do anything about it.

If village chat is a concern, by the way, switch to an external client like IRC or Skype.
