Watering Crops For Faster Growth

My idea is that a player can craft a watering can, either of wood or any common metal. The first option, the wooden can, would be available as soon as you learn farming and would cost two blocks of wood, holding 10L of water. The second, the metal, would be craftable from one bar of any common metal once you learn the metal working skill (and you have the farming skill) and would hold 25L of water. Based on the q of the cans, the crops would grow at a faster rate (if this is too complicated, maybe the wooden one wouldnt make them grow as fast the metal one.) In my opinion, this is very appropriate to the spirit of the game and the realism, as plants in the real world require water. Thoughts?

Farming for the most part needs to be redone strongly so that you actually require irrigation and need to breed for specific things, you should 'Search'f or older threads on the matter, there are a few that are very detailed and explain a few directions it can go in.

Watering should increase yield rather than reduce growth time. And I'd rather see irrigation ditches than watering cans. There should be more infrastructure in general.
